Spending countless hours as a captain on the Salish Sea, Tasli Shaw harnesses her observations of the Salish Sea marine mammals for her artistic endeavours. Recreating a moment she has had with these individual mammals is captured by rendering their likeness as closely as possible while adding her own imaginative realism. Tasli’s deep connection and knowledge of these animals is apparent through her blend of natural history, scientific accuracy, and her artistic approach to her illustrations.
